| About the Designations |
| BCIPI members who are fully certified and qualified to provide inspection services will have one of the following professional designations... Certified Property Inspector (CPI) or Certified House Inspector (CHI). The professional designation is granted to the individual, not the company they work for. |
| An Associate Inspector is a BCIPI member working towards full certification and would generally work under the supervision of a CHI or CPI when providing house or property inspection services. |
| Inspector-in-Training (IIT) is a new entrant into the industry who has yet to complete all the courses and the requisite number of inspections for certification. An IIT is not yet authorized to offer inspection services to the public. |
